My 2xgt grandfather, John Sampson Barnett, was born in Thornbury in c1824 and with the help of your marvellous site and believe I have worked back through James (1799), John (1777)to my 5x gt grandfather Benjamin Barnett(1746). Benjamin was married to Ann(e) Lippiatt, daughter,I believe, of John and Ann.
James Barnett (1799) married a Sarah Thurston in Bristol in 1821 but, although this is another well known Thornbury name I can't seem to find any trace of her family. Possibly her father was Guy and her mother Frances?
Any links or information on these Barnetts, Lippiatts or Thurstons would be much appreciated.

I think my great great great grandparents may have been John Smith and Sarah Barge. Their daughter Cecilia, my great great grandmother, was baptised in St. Mary's Church, Thornbury, on 23/8/1822. Her parents were described as : John Smith, labourer, and Sarah, and their abode as "Borough", by which I suppose they lived somewhere in the town. I'd love to know more. Please e-mail me if you have anything of interest to tell me. Thank you. Jenny

I have been using this site for several years and found out a great deal about the Sanigar family. However, due to the various spellings and transcriptions of the name (Sanigar, Saniger, Sannigar, Sainger) it would be really useful to be able to search using a wildcard, or on christian name only. I'm sure I'm missing some that are in there somewhere!
